LULAC Honors America’s Veterans

For the past 30 years, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) San Benito Council 2890 has joined the nation in honoring all the men and women who have served in our armed forces to protect the freedoms of our Republic and the principles of our democracy which generations of Americans have enjoyed since our founding.

Larry Brown 2023 LULAC Veteran of the Year

Community Dedication

Larry has been a volunteer for 18 years with the Community Food Pantry in San Benito County, helping address hunger. He has also been involved with the Boy Scouts of America for decades, currently serving as an assistant Scoutmaster and merit badge trainer. Additionally, Larry has volunteered for 38 years as a docent with California State Parks in San Juan Bautista and has dedicated multiple years to serving as an Election Poll worker to support the voting process.

Bryan Morse 2023 LULAC Vetern of the Year

Community Dedication

Bryan's commitment to service spans decades and multiple roles, from serving in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy to a 46-year career at Sherwin-Williams. As a community liaison, he donated supplies to those in need and volunteered with organizations like Babe Ruth Bambinos and the Hollister High School Buckaroos. Bryan also serves on the California Air Quality Resources Board. His most poignant role is as a VFW bugler, playing 'Taps' at Military Funeral Honors ceremonies to honor fallen veterans, embodying the values of honor and service in all he does.
