Since 1994, LULAC, the oldest Hispanic civil rights organization in our country and county, has been honoring outstanding veterans with our Veteran of the Year Award. In collaboration with VFW Post 9242, LULAC proudly announces that nominations for the 2025 Veteran of the Year Award are now open.

How your nominee has demonstrated a commitment to service in our community. This could be through advocacy, community projects, an act of heroism, or other actions.

Provide an example of how this veteran exudes a spirit of excellence. There should be a clear example of how this veteran stands out and does things well.

Veterans are the backbone of our freedom, embodying values of bravery and resilience, and it is our honor to highlight their ongoing contributions to society.
2016 Veteran of the Year
U. S. Army. 1969-70. Served as an infantryman with the 9th Infantry Division 3/5th CAV in Dong Ha by the DMZ in Vietnam.
2015 Veteran of The Year
U. S. Army 1966- 1968. Served with the infantry in Vietnam. Patrolled the Mekong Delta, one of the major areas of conflict.
2021 Veteran of the Year
Served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany in support of Operation Desert Storm.
