  • You have the right to remain silent – You do not have to answer questions about your immigration status.
  • You have the right to refuse a search – Unless an officer has a warrant, you can decline a search of your person, belongings, or home.
  • You have the right to speak to a lawyer – If detained, ask for legal representation immediately.
  • You have the right to not sign anything – Do not sign documents you do not understand without legal advice.
